Rev. Laura Delaplain




 Clinical Director of PCSSS, Licensed Psychologist


As an ordained minister and licensed psychologist, Dr. Delaplain brings to the Institute an interest in the spiritual health and development of individuals, families, and systems.  Before cofounding the Institute for Spiritual Life and Psychotherapy, Laura served for 25 years as the Executive Director of the Norma Kent Pastoral Counseling Center at the United Church of Christ in Abington, MA.  Laura has been a clergy member of the New England Conference of the United Methodist Church since 1985, providing interim pastoral leadership to churches in transition.   Laura offers Spiritual Direction, Practices of Meditation, and Professional Development through ISLP.


Judith B. Mackenzie




Training Director of PCSSS, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist 


Co-Director Judith Mackenzie brings to the Institute her passion and extensive experience in professional training and development of counselors.  Prior to co-founding ISLP, Judy worked for over 10 years as Training Director for the Norma Kent Pastoral Counseling Center at the United Church of Christ in Abington.  Judy has been responsible for developing and maintaining a graduate level program which has trained many pastoral psychotherapy interns over the years. Judy's interests for the Institute are the development of professional supervision groups for working with trauma, retreat offerings, educational workshops and work with churches.

Administrative Director of PCSSS


Anke has worked at the Pastoral Counseling Services of the South Shore since its inception and has just recently joined the leadership team as the Interim Administrative Director.  In addition to her counseling role at PCSSS, she held a long-term position at Eastern Nazarene College which she just left in December.  At Eastern Nazarene College she worked with students providing mental health counseling and education on a variety of mental health topics, coordinationg job fairs as well as alumni networking opportunities, and teaching a number of different courses in the Department of Psychology.  She is looking forward to serving in this new role and utilizing her organizational and administrative skills.




Suzanne Briggette

Position: Counselor - LMHC, LMFT

Suzanne Briggette is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Suzanne has 15 years of counseling experience with individuals, couples and families. Drawing from Internal Family Systems, Relational Life Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT and DBT, Suzanne believes in wholistic treatment, mind, body and spirit, and that most problems can be resolved as we work to strengthen out relationships with each other. She is curious about the spiritual lives of her clients and offers Christian Counseling. She has had success with helping women manage life transitions and helping couples to drop the "blame game."

Services offered:

Coaching nad Individual therapy with a wholistic approach for women, especially Moms, caregivers, educators, nurses, Pastor's wives, and partners with a spouse who travels for business. Couple therapy, Christian Couneling, family therapy, and supervision also available.

Frank Cavallo

Position: Counselor - PhD LMHC, LMFT

Frank Cavallo has extensive experience in premarital and marital counseling; family relational problems; anger management; and conflict resolution.

He is aMassachusetts Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Massachusetts Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Fellow. Frank completed the Ackerman Institute Externship in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, and is certified in the Gottman Sound Marital House Case and Therapy Session, and in Collaborative Couples Therapy Training Certification



Dolores Craig

Position:Counselor - M.S., LMHC

Delores is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Massachusetts who graduated in the spring of 2006 from Umass Boston with a MS in Mental Health Counseling. She has been working in the field for over 8 years and uses an eclectic approach of CBT, role play, mindfulness, and positive psychology coupled with psychoeducation and literary reading/worksheets to reinforce newly learnedskills and concepts. Delores is a registered yoga teacher who enjoys assisting clients with learning mindfulness, relaxation, centering and meditation skills.


Richard Dagley


Position:Counselor, M.S.

Rick Dagley has been a part-time counselor with the Pastoral Counseling Services of the South Shore since May 2011. He also did an internship with PCSSS in 2010-2011. Rick has a BA in English from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., and an MS in Marriage and Family Counseling from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass. Rick counsels both children and adults, as well as couples. His passion is helping couples and families not only endure but thrive despite difficult circumstances. To that end, he has been leading a marriage enrichment group for the past four years.

Dr. Laura Delaplain


Position:Clinical Director and Counselor, Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Laura Delaplain, Clinical Director of PCSSS, is a Massachusetts licensed Psychologist, an ordained United Methodist minister, and a certified Spiritual Director. She has practiced on the south shore for over 25 years. Her specialties are trauma, women's issues, loss and bereavement, and depression. She also teaches meditation and mindfulness. Dr. Delaplain is active in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She received the 2012 Distinguished Contribution Award from the Northeast Region of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Lois DiPasqua


Position:Counselor -LMHC

Lois DiPasqua, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, has had extensive clinical experience with community mental health care. Lois specializes in women's issues, aging, family stabilization, management of major mental illness, and collateral consultation.

Jen Ierardi


Position: Counselor - LICSW

Jen Ierardi, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has skills working with adults, children, family, and groups. Jen has had experience with the foster care system, adolescent residential care, and general outpatient mental health care.


Gayla Johnston


Position: Counselor - LMHC

Gayla Johnston, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, specializes in work with children, adolescents, and families in significant distress. Gayle's background is in community mental health care.


Heidi King

For over 15 years, Heidi King has combined a genuine care for her clients with her strong, interdisciplinary training in both psychology and theology. Heidi has a solid clinical foundation in psychodynamic psychotherapy and family systems theory. Heidi "listens" her clients into honest and genuine speech which is met with warmth, compassion and a sense of humor. She enjoys working with adults who are open about their life experiences and who are willing to access their own wisdom as a guide to healthier and happier living.

Joseph Carl ("Jace") Langone

Jace Langone

Position: Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD) & Health Service Provider

My clinical focus is in the treatment of trauma, major life adjustments and phase of life trasnsitions, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, personal crises (spiritual, existential, and/or identity), life review, and integrating altered/non-ordinary state of consciousness.

I am particularly interested in working with people of all ages and faiths, and draw from a wide scope of clinical experience as well as other disciplines, creating an eclectic therapeutic style malleable to each individual.

I provide tradional talk therapy as well as short-term, solution-focused treatment using various mindfulness-based techniques.

In October, I will be launching 2 Psychotherapy groups--an interfaith grief and loss support group in response to the opioid crisis as well as a nature-and-community based mindfulness group. Space in these groups is limited to eight (8) with enrollment beginning September 1, 2017.

Judy Mackenzie


Position: Training Director and Counselor, LMHC, LMFT

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Judy Mackenzie has been a Pastoral Counselor since 1999. In addition she has extensive experience in community mental health. Areas of particular focus are severe trauma, chronic illness and mental illness, issues of giftedness, physical disability issues, and adults with ADD. In addition to providing workshops for area Human Service agencies and churches, she serves as our Training Director. She works from a deep belief in the ability of the mind to know truth, and the spirit to heal and transcend.

Dr. Brian Massey

Position: Counselor, Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Massey has 20 years of clinical experience and 10 years of college teaching experience as a professor of psychology at Eastern Nazarene College, including in the Master's program in Marriage and Family Therapy. He earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from ENC, his Master's and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at the Derner Institute at Adelphi University, and completed an internship and fellowship from NYU College of Medicine.

Following the 9/11 attacks in New York, his work expanded to the area of psychological trauma, including coordinating trauma-focused treatment and research programs with trauma survivors and working with first responders. Since returning to the South Shore, Dr. Massey continues to work with a wide range of clients, including children, adolescents, and adults, as well as couples and families. He works from a primarily relational psychodynamic perspective, with an emphasis on family dynamics, and loves to help others explore how to live more fully engaged lives- personally, relationally and spiritually. He lives on the South Shore with his wife, twin daughters, and a menagerie of pets.

Gail O'Brien

Position:Counselor M.S.

Gail O'Brien graduated from Eastern Nazarene College Marriage and Family therapy Program in May 2014. She is working toward licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She is also a registered nurse with over 18 years of psychiatric nursing experience. She enjoys working with a diverse group of clientele, especially children and families. She incorporates into her practice several models of therapy such as solution-focused, strength based, cognitive behavior therapy and narrative therapy.


Anke Thorne


Position: Administrative Director and Counselor, M.S., LMHC

I have worked as a therapist for over 20 years and provide confidential counseling to individuals, couples, and families. I am a general practitioner with experience treating a broad variety of issues ranging from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, relationship problems, premarital counseling, eating disorders, grief, parenting issues and others.

My theoretical approach to treating each person depends on the issue and your preference. I utilize person-centered and psychodynamic principles as well as cognitive-behavioral techniques. It is my goal to understand your concerns as well as your goals for counseling and to work collaboratively with you to achieve desired changes and insights.

I have a Christian faith background and am actively involved in my local church. I am happy to incorporate Christian and religious aspects into our work where appropriate. Therapy appointments can be held in English or German.

 Mirande Sidaros





Mirande Sidaros                 Intern 2017



Randa earned her Masters Degree in Education at Alexandria University, Egypt, and now is in the Master's program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, MA, USA. As a professional with extensive experience in business and education, she is dedicated to helping others through compassionate care, active listening and team collaboration.


Randa's background in education and business has developed her skills in empathy, organization and interpersonal communication.  She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families with her genuine interest in others.


Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy are of most interest to her at the present time, but she is willing to apply other theoretical orientations as needed.


Randa views the world through her Christian faith that guides her for all she does, and she is happy to incorporate spirituality with clients in sessions where appropriate. She lives with her husband and three sons.

Belinda McGuire - Billing Manager/HIPPA Compliance Officer


Belinda McGuire is our Billing Manager and our HIPAA Compliance Officer. Belinda worked in customer service at Medicare for two years before becoming the Medicare Training Instructor

for multiple departments. Following that she became the Quality Control Officer for Medicare customer service. After staying home for eleven years as a full time mom, Belinda re-entered

the workforce as an Assistant Billing Specialist. She joined PCSSS in August of 2012 as the Billing and Credentialing Manager and the HIPAA compliance officer. In her free time she is highly

involved in advocating for special education programs and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Lois Nutley - Office Manager


Lois Nutley is our Office Manager. After a career in the Corporate Sector which included the Health Care Industry, QCAP (a non profit organization) and Realty Management, she joined PCSSS

in February 2015. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends. She takes care of her granddaughter during the school year. Another pastime favorite is dancing, anything from

Rock N Roll to Country Line.

Susan Petersen is a semi-retired Illustrator and Graphic Designer with over 40 years experience designing logos, custom art and targeted marketing materials with local printers, publishers and ad agencies. Recently she has been designing and illustrating books for local authors.   Her extensive church and non-profit experience includes: United Methodist  Church - church youth director, member/presenter for the NEUMC Conference Communications Committee, and Certified Lay Speaker.  South Shore Habitat for Humanity - Faith Relations Coordinator, Board of Directors Member, graphic designer and volunteer.  In-kind donor for local non-profits and community groups including: Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore, Lakota Kidz, and Village Dresses (St. Nicholas UMC, Hull).



Dr. Janet Lanham







Founding Member


Dr. Jan Lanham has been on the faculty of Eastern Nazarene College since 1982, serving as Dean of Students from 1990-1998.  She currently works with the ENC Marriage and Family Counseling graduate degree program.  Jan is a specialist in student development, counseling in women's issues, and sexual abuse issues.  She is the Co-author of the book Choices: In Pursuit of Wholeness.


Nina Loveless




Founding Member


Nina Loveless is a career government administrator, serving as Telecommunications Manager for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  A member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church, Nina has been active in a number of CHUMC leadership roles, including serving on the Missions Board, Trustees, and Church Council.  A trained musician, Nina sings with the Church Hill United Methodist Church Choir, and with the Harbor Choral Arts Society.  Nina has provided leadership support for pastoral counseling ministry at Church Hill since the pastoral counseling satellite service began.
